Judge D’Apolito was elected to the court in 2016. His current term ends in 2022. He was sworn into office by his father, Judge Lou D’Apolito, who at the time was also a Common Pleas judge in Mahoning County.

Judge Sweeney was appointed to the court in 2004 by Ohio’s then-governor, Bob Taft. She has since been elected and re-elected. Her current term ends in 2021. In 2018, she ran unsuccessfully for the 7th District Court of Appeals.

Judge Krichbaum is the longest-serving elected official in the county. He was elected in 1990 and re-elected every six years since then. He has served on many boards and legal commissions and has been active in the community. In 2018, Ohio’s Supreme Court gave him an award of appreciation for serving on the Board of Bar Examiners for twenty years. The judge is a Youngstown native and YSU graduate. While attending law school, he worked as a bailiff for the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas under Judge Clyde Osborne. He began a private criminal defense practice in 1980, in his hometown.

Judge Durkin’s term ends in 2021. He was admitted to the bar in 1983. He opened a private practice in Youngstown in 1984 that handled criminal defense, personal injury, and malpractice. He closed the office in 1997 when he was elected to the bench. He established the drug court in Mahoning County.

Judge Donofrio was sworn into office in 2018 by his father and brother, one retired from the 7th Ohio District Court of Appeals and one currently serving on that court. The judge is a Youngstown native and a graduate of Ursuline High School. He has worked as a blood bank technician, working full time and going to law school at night. After graduating, he was hired as an assistant prosecutor for Mahoning County. He also worked for a time as deputy general counsel for B.J. Alan Company (Phantom Fireworks).

Mr. Logue is good for one reason, he cares. A client is not a quick buck. He always answers his phone, day or night and he understands the law better than anyone. He always answers my calls for both corporate and personal legal decisions and I have a ton of questions. His rates are reasonable too. Fair and firm. Anonymous
