Franklin Student and Professional Misconduct Defense Lawyer

A misconduct allegation can threaten a student’s education or a professional’s ability to work even when no criminal charge has been filed. If you live, study, or work in Franklin or elsewhere in Venango County, the first step is to identify who is investigating, what rule is allegedly involved, and when a response is due. Logue Law Group helps people assess disciplinary allegations and prepare a response, particularly when a school, workplace, or licensing matter overlaps with a criminal investigation.

Identify the Process Before Responding

A school conduct review, an employer investigation, and a professional licensing proceeding are different processes. They may use different definitions of misconduct, evidence standards, and hearing procedures. The location of your home does not necessarily determine where a disciplinary matter will be heard. Bring the complete notice and the applicable handbook, policy, or board correspondence to your consultation.

List every response date, scheduled interview, hearing, and review deadline. Keep copies of communications and any temporary restrictions. A request for more information or for counsel does not automatically postpone a deadline; obtain confirmation through the proper process before relying on a change.

Student Discipline and School Hearings

For a student matter, clarify the alleged conduct, the possible sanction, and which policy governs. Public-school discipline and college or university proceedings should not be treated as interchangeable. Pennsylvania’s school-hearing regulation addresses formal expulsion hearings and other covered disciplinary hearings. The procedures applicable to a particular student require review of the school setting and the action proposed.

Ask counsel to examine the notice, available evidence, opportunities to respond, and the role an attorney or adviser may have. Provide any relevant education plan or accommodation documents when applicable. For college matters, preserve the current conduct code and the specific procedure identified in the notice rather than assuming that courtroom rules apply.

Professional Licensing and Workplace Allegations

A professional complaint may involve an employer, a licensing authority, or both. Determine which entity sent the notice and what authority it claims. Pennsylvania licensing boards and commissions take disciplinary and corrective measures under their governing laws; the Department of State publishes professional licensing disciplinary actions. An individual case requires attention to the specific profession and applicable rules.

Bring the complaint, interview request, license information, relevant policies, and any employment or board correspondence. Discuss reporting obligations before making a submission. Do not assume that an employer’s resolution ends a licensing inquiry or that a licensing decision resolves an employment dispute. Representation and its scope depend on the firm’s review of your matter.

Coordinate With Any Criminal Case

Disciplinary statements can have consequences beyond the immediate investigation. Tell counsel about police contact, pending charges, subpoenas, or related court orders before giving a detailed account. A coordinated response considers both the duty to respond in a particular proceeding and the potential effect of statements in other matters.

For local criminal allegations, see our Franklin criminal defense and DUI page. If a protection order is also involved, our Venango County PFA defense page explains practical issues to discuss with counsel. Continue following existing orders and restrictions while seeking lawful review.

Preserve Records and Prepare a Timeline

Save complete communications and original files, including relevant messages, documents, and existing recordings. Identify witnesses with firsthand knowledge without coaching or pressuring them. Do not alter records, delete material, or access someone else’s account to obtain evidence. Keep sensitive school, client, patient, or workplace information secure and discuss lawful collection and sharing with counsel.

Call 412.387.6901 or contact Logue Law Group to discuss a Franklin or Venango County misconduct allegation. Our Pittsburgh-area team can review the notice, identify the governing process, and discuss next steps. No disciplinary or criminal outcome can be guaranteed.
