Adams County Child Sexual Abuse Lawyer | Survivor Rights
Survivors of childhood sexual abuse in Adams County may have civil legal options involving the person who caused the harm and, depending on the facts and applicable law, an organization or institution that may have had a role in the abuse or its response. Every matter requires an individualized and confidential review of the facts, available evidence, potential defendants, and filing deadlines.
Experience representing survivors
Sean Logue has represented hundreds of survivors of abuse connected to the Boy Scouts of America and children abused in Pennsylvania detention centers. Each matter is different; prior representations do not predict the outcome of a new case.
Pennsylvania filing deadlines
As of November 5, 2026, Pennsylvania has not opened a retroactive lookback window for claims whose prior limitation period expired. Legislation proposing such a window has not been enacted. A proposal is not a filing deadline or a guarantee that a future window will open.
Pennsylvania law currently provides an extended period for certain civil actions arising from sexual abuse that occurred when the survivor was under 18: generally, 37 years after reaching age 18. A separate provision addresses certain claims involving abuse when an individual was at least 18 and under 24, subject to statutory definitions and conditions. Applicability dates, tolling rules, the identity and legal status of a defendant, government-defendant limitations, and other exceptions can affect a particular claim. A lawyer should review the facts promptly rather than assume a deadline has or has not passed.

Evidence and possible institutional responsibility
Depending on the circumstances, potentially useful records may include school, youth-program, employment, treatment, detention, church, or agency records; correspondence; photographs; contemporaneous notes; and the names of people who may have received a disclosure. Preserve available records without altering originals. Do not delay seeking advice while trying to collect everything. Before contacting a potential defendant or suspected abuser, discuss safety, evidence preservation, and legal strategy with counsel.
Whether an organization can be held responsible depends on the evidence and applicable law. This page makes no allegation about any named person, institution, or Adams County organization.
