When an Allegation Involves More Than One Online Platform
The JPML transfer order describes allegations that a predator first connected with a minor through Roblox and later continued contact on another platform or by text, voice, or video communication. The order identifies Roblox, Discord, Snap, and Meta among the defendants opposing centralization. These statements summarize the procedural record; they are not findings of liability.
Assess each service separately
A family’s experience may involve several accounts, services, devices, or people. An individual review should identify what is known about each service and avoid assuming every platform played the same role. Relevant questions may include how contact began, what non-explicit records remain, whether a report was made, and whether communication moved elsewhere.
Do not continue interacting with another user to gather evidence or attempt to investigate. Do not access accounts without authorization. Do not copy or share sexual images or videos involving a minor. A lawyer or law enforcement can advise about safe preservation of ordinary records.
Different claims can follow different paths
Platform-related claims may be handled in different litigation tracks. In June 2026, the JPML declined to transfer a case focused on violent content and “grooming for violence” into MDL 3166 because it did not allege sexual exploitation, predation, or assault. The claims and court process should be checked rather than inferred from a platform’s name.
